In the national league everyone is paying attention to the Colorado Rockies and San Francisco Giants as they are going to be battling for the wild card slot. Everyone and their mothers have narrowed it down to these two teams who will determine the wild card team from the National League. The Rockies own a half game lead with 28 games remaining on their schedule. September 14 will be the time when we see who wants it more as they will open a three game series to leapfrog one of the two into the postseason. The Rockies have scored over a hundred more runs than the Giants but the Giants pitching staff has been better than the Rockies. Tim Lincecum and Matt Cain have been on the top list of pitchers in the league this year and with the addition of Brad Penny they have the pitching. In the NFL they say defense wins championships and in baseball pitching wins a game that is why I have the Giants beating out the Rockies and making it to the playoffs.
